The real cost of laser hair removal
HI Folks,
When choosing a clinic to perform laser hair removal you will probably like to check the price first. At least you believe that you can check it.
The reality is a bit different. How can you determine the true cost of laser hair removal?
Lets say that you are interested in removing the hair from your legs. The average customer will call to ask the price for removing hair from the legs. In most clinics there is a price for single session or an option to purchase a package of a number of sessions. In that case the price per session will, probably, be lower that the price for single session.
Because the overall cost for the procedure is the total cost of the sessions you will need to know the number of sessions needed for you to go through.
The average person will ask two questions: What is the price of a session and how many sessions are needed to get the job done.
Unfortunately those two questions are completely irrelevant. why?
Price:
When asking the price you assume that the product is the same. In case of laser treatments the product is never the same ! In case of laser treatments the product is never the same ! There are numerous differences leaving you just a slim chance to distinguish who is the better one specifically for you.
Number of treatments needed:
There are numerous things causing the need of number of sessions. In general a result considered satisfactory when about 80% of the hair is removed and does not grow back.
Despite the type of laser you use, the power you use it and the time spend, there can be always regrowth. This is a result of factors which are beyond our ability to influence like hormonal condition or genetic issues.
Finally the big moment arrived - you called a clinic and the session price was really good, you asked how many sessions needed, you got a reasonable answer...you calculated the total and got a really good deal. Nice. You think you just won the bingo. You decide to let this clinic to treat you with their "laser"....
I will make it short: one year later....you look at your body, frustrated, as the hair is still growing. You invested a great amount of money on that project. Still got no solution. The hair keep growing.
You went to a clinic. A young lady, just graduated from aesthetic school used to treat you. Once or twice there was another one doing the job. She might be still learning the procedure...yes right, on you!
It also turned out that the "laser" you've been treated was not exactly the state of the art device. In fact it was not considered laser at all. You guessed right, it was an IPL machine.
The problem with those is that they just don't meet your expectations. They don't do the job. After some time you might see the hair growing back after you thought you got rid of it all. This is, of course, according to our experience...although some will claim it is good as laser....Anyway, take my advice - go for the laser from the beginning...it is well worth it.
What went wrong? You were looking on the wrong issue. The clinic may be stylish, located in a nice plaza....but, your hair is still there....somewhere....and you did not want it to happened.
Now what you do? You try another clinic. Now you are hurt. Feeling you already spent a great deal of money for nothing. Now, you calculate the new expense as well. You add the sum you are asked to pay on the new place to the sum you already spent. Now it looks a lot....
Automatically you avoid spending the right amount and again do the same mistake: looking for the deal. You do not want to become a real loser. If there is a cheap option somewhere - you will find it.
This is a typical catch 22 circle that many of the people who seeks laser hair removal fall into each time they seek for laser clinic to remove their unwanted hair.
The truth is simple: it is very hard, almost impossible, to figure by your self what is the best laser hair removal clinic for you.
Remember, not the most expensive clinic is the best, nor the cheaper is the worst.
Check by equipment, experience of the technician. You might find someone that can tell you about the place but there is one problem: different people get different results !
When you do compare, remember: always compare apples to apples. you can not compare one type of machine to another, e.g. IPL to a laser.
Good Luck.
