Default Things you will not hear from us

Last month a lady arrived to our clinic as part of her “shopping around” tour. As you might have read on previous posts in this forum it is almost impossible to classify laser hair removal clinics by prices. Well, if not the price you should know some facts about the laser hair removal process so you will have the ability to determine if a clinic you went for consultation is really worth your time and money at all.

First example of how you can know something about the clinic you are attending for consultation: Your skin is very light (white as a sparkling sheet), your hair is quite dark…in short: you are the perfect candidate for laser hair removal. However the clinic is offering to treat you with their Yag laser machine. Some clinics are trying to impress their clients by claiming their Yag is longer wave length, therefore it is better and more efficient. There is only one thing to do if that occurs – take your feet and get the hell of that place. There are two possibilities – either they know nothing about laser hair removal or they are professional liars….

There is an opinion, shared by a number of specialists, that prefer to use Yag laser when treating dark skin people. I do not share that opinion. It is true that the Yag with its long waves will get deeper, but it will also be very weak, therefore not so efficient.
Second example: another lady who was “shopping around” went to get consultation for laser hair removal. She was told to attend for a session every week….”well that is great”, she thought to herself, “I can finish with that in a very short time”….

Again, everyone who has a bit of knowledge could tell you she should take her feet out of there…they don’t deserve her trust… the laser can hit only the follicles who are at the active phase, therefore it is total waste of time and money…no good will come out of this kind of treatment strategy...

“Wax it Baby”:
Miss X (fabricated name) was attending consultation appointment at one of Toronto’s laser hair removal clinics. She was asked to arrive half an hour prior to her laser session time so they could wax her feet real good before they start to laser her….Only god knows how this action can do some good to the process. In fact it will do the opposite – the laser needs the follicle to target and destroy, and if you pull it out you will surly gain zero effectiveness out of it…

This case represents the wilderness of the laser hair removal market in Toronto and all other parts of the country. I was glad if it was that specific clinic only, but I am afraid it is not the case. Such clinics can ruin the profession, reducing peoples’ trust on the clinics themselves and the process as whole.
