Hello,
If you ever wanted to get rid of your body hair by laser - this forum is for you. What is the laser? Are there different types of laser machine? This forum is also dedicated to the Soprano XL laser machine. What is so special with that machine and what is its advantage over other laser hair removal systems. The word "Laser" is commonly used on most locations that perform hair removal but is it a laser? Are all the methods operating by light are considered laser? What is IPL and is it efficient? Please ask your questions or share your experience with us. I will be doing my best to help you to make the right decision in your battle against the unwanted hair.... Please, keep civilized behavior and clean talk. Yours, odi |

Dear Martha,
Thank you for joining our forum. There are some different laser systems in the market. They all produce light in a narrow wave length...that means it is a wave produced artificially by the machine and does not exist like that in nature. That group includes the Yag lasers, diode lasers, alexandrite and the ruby. The IPL (short for: Intense Pulse Light) is a machine that produce high energy of light in a wider wave length, usually from around the 500's to the 1000's or even 1200 NM. Basically both methods, laser and IPL work on the same principal of delivering heat by light, using the pigments of the hair as a conductor in order to destroy the hair follicle. Take care, Odi |
