Default Zeltiq Vs. Zerona

Hi Folks,

I would like to compare the Zerona to the Zeltiq system...Its creators defines it as " a new, non-invasive way to gently and effectively reduce fat in targeted areas of the body ..."

Is It really non invasive? Well, the definition of "Non Invasive" is: " puncturing the skin or entering a body cavity"... so technically you might say it is non invasive...I would prefer to call it " Invasive without puncturing the body"...

To give you a better idea of what I am talking about I would like to quate Castels 117 who reviewed te Zeltiq machine after hading the procedure himself: "When I got home I noticed that bruising had already begun. The skin on my left side had been punctured so I had some bleeding. It is now 5 days later, and I'm in a lot of pain. The area is basiclly numb to the touch except for a shooting pain that begins in the same area where my bleeding occurred". Is this "Non-Invasive" procedure?

First let's see what is the zeltiq procedure all about.

I looked at Zeltiq's manufacturing website. To say that this website is dull would be really understatement. Very little information about the procedure. Therefore I had to dig some info from other websites and reviews....

I would say immediately that this procedure reminds me the Liposonix procedure...both pretend to eliminate fat by getting id of the fat cells. The Liposonix does it by Ultrasound waves and the Zeltiq by cooling and freezing those cells.

comparison:

Pain:
Zerona - Totally painless. You literally don’t feel anything and can have a quick nap.
Zeltiq - the company claims that it is painless, however I found more than once that clients complained that they had strong pains during the procedure.

Downtime:
Zerona – no downtime. Any bruising or redness can be seen.
Zeltiq - the company claims that there is no downtime, however they admit that possible bruising and redness might occur...well on my opinion, if you got pains and bruising you might have some downtime.

Number of areas that can be treated at same session:
Zerona – Any area of the body – from face, arms to the body, upper and lower, and the legs.
Zeltiq – one area only – mid section area.

Time needed to see results:
Zerona – 1- 2 weeks.
Zeltiq - 2- 4 months.

Expected inches to lose:
Zerona – 3 – 12 inches (6 in average)
Zeltiq - about 20% of the fat tissue...(don't ask me how much inches are those...)

Scars:
Zerona – Will likely smooth the cars.
Zeltiq - will change nothing about it.

Can Treat previous Liposuction areas:
Zerona – Yes.
Liposonix – It seems that No. If I am wrong you are most welcome to correct me...

Limitations/ contradictions:

Zerona - very few (pacemaker or pregnancy)
Zelltiq - No info but I guess there are since this is a destructive and violence process (you are invited to complete the missing).

BMI
Zerona - Even people with high BMI can be treated.
Zeltiq - "for people who are just a bit over sized"...that means if your BMI is just a bit high you are not a good candidate...

FDA Approval:
Zerona – Has approval for safety as well as results.
Zeltiq – I read that their FDA is for "cooling the skin"...not a word about fat elimination/reduction....

Conclusion:

It is wrong to say that the Zeltiq is a non invasive procedure because it is destroying fat cells. As a result you might experience the same problems that you commonly have after traditional liposuction, meaning, uneven skin surface, very bumpy skin and accumulation of fat all over the body because the cells are not available to accommodate the fat.

It seems that the Zerona is the only FDA Approved, proven to be effective, Non invasive procedure that is completely safe and free of future phenomenon caused by harmful procedures like the Zeltiq.

Yours,

Odi

When it comes to trimming inches from the midriff, thighs, and buttocks, people will try anything from extreme dieting to invasive surgical procedures. Now, two of the fastest rising inch-loss solutions offer non-surgical clinical alternatives that could very well change how we think of body shaping in the years ahead. Zeltiq™ and Zerona™ are two treatments that require no cutting, no stitching and no down time; just a few quick, painless sessions with sometimes remarkable results. Both treatments have received FDA approval and are being utilized by more and more cosmetic professionals, but which one is better at successfully getting rid of that muffin top or those love handles.
